Each week an estimated 29.9 million newspapers are circulated across Canada. A recent survey by Pollara Strategic Insights revealed some interesting insights about how much trust Canadians place in newspaper outlets.
While CBC, CTV and Global News are trusted by between 59- 67% of Canadians, no Canadian newspaper outlet earned more than a 49% trustworthy rating. Topping the list of newspapers with the highest trust ratings is the Globe and Mail at 49%, followed by The Canadian Press at 44%, The National Post is trusted by 41% of Canadians and in last place, the Toronto Star earned 39%.
Why do you think Canadians feel that newspapers aren’t as trustworthy as television news outlets?
